JavaScript for Data Science

Data Science is an exciting convergence of data analysis practices. Professionals from their fields being their own tools to the discussions. The most popular tools come from communities of Python and R. In this section, we want to make the case for using JavaScript.

  1. The number of JavaScript statistical analysis libraries is growing. You can already perform basic statistical analysis tasks in JavaScript.
  2. JavaScript is a fast evolving language.
  3. It runs on ALL platforms. You can reuse your data analysis code.

If you need the most powerful tool of data science, you should stick with either Python or R. However, in case when you don't need all capabilities. The framework can be cumbersome. I suggest to review your requirements and decide accordingly. If you data analysis task is simple, you should consider using JavaScript.
